Grand Prairie United Charities is pleased to be chosen to administer The Texas Emergency Rental Assistance Program (TERAP). Due to the large need and the limited dollars available, the fund recommended that the fairest way to administer this program is a lottery system, described below. This program is for rent ONLY for Grand Prairie Residents.
Please read the attached Program Overview, available in both English and Spanish, to see if you qualify for the program. SOME of the significant requirements are below:
- Both the Landlord AND the Tenant must agree to the terms, see Program Overview.
- The household income must be under 80% of AMI (Area Median Income)
- If you receive Section 8 Housing assistance, you do not qualify for this program
- The Household must have been economically impacted by COVID-19.
If you meet the requirements in the Program Overview and want to apply, you must follow the steps below. Unlike other programs, assistance will be provided by a LOTTERY system, detail description below.
- Download and complete the Texas Emergency Rental Assistance Program (TERAP) Tenant Application. ALL 3 pages.
- Download and complete the Texas Emergency Rental Assistance Program (TERAP) Tenant Certification. BOTH OF THE 2 pages.
- Email BOTH to TERAPapp@gpuc.org ONLY email applications will be accepted.
- All applications received at TERAPapp@gpuc.org by NOON every Friday will be entered into the lottery.
- Only 1 application per household will be entered into the lottery.
- The lottery will be a random drawing from all applications received that week.
- The applications chosen will be notified via email or a phone call from the information provided on the Texas Emergency Rental Assistance Program (TERAP) Tenant Certification submitted.
- Applicants have until the following Tuesday at NOON to bring the required documents to our office at 1417 Densman St, Grand Prairie, TX 75051. We are open Monday and Tuesday from 9:00 am to 1:00 pm.
- If the required additional documents are not received by NOON Tuesday, the household will not move forward in the process but rather will go back into the lottery for the following week.
